We are all set. The final batch of names has washed ashore, the music program of Into The Great Wide Open is complete. A final addition of twenty-two new artists, adding an extra dose of flavor to the line-up.
If only for ÁMÀL Ensemble: the genre-fluid proof that the multicultural society is indeed a success. Or how about Model/Actriz? This industrial live sensation from New York throws the rawest princess party you've ever been invited to. The treasure chest of overseas folk gems is also complete, featuring leftfield troubadour Cleo Reed and the whisper-quiet bedroom-pop songs of Dermot Henry.
In addition to new discoveries, there is room for old friends. The regulars of Clean Pete for instance, who welcome Sunday on the island with a multi-piece choir. Or Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, who complete their ITGWO hat-trick with a show at Het Sportveld, following previous gigs at De IJsbaan and De Open Plek.
And then there is Dune Sessions: twelve jazz virtuosos who came to Vlieland for a residency camp at the invitation of Super Sonic Jazz, PAARD and Into The Great Wide Open. For five days they sought inspiration in the dunes. They will present the result at De Open Plek, in a special 'in the round' setup.
