TAPE TOY
Indie rock in top gear – with enough effects pedals in their arsenal to win the war
TAPE TOY makes music as if it’s Woodstock ‘99: no summer of love, but total chaos. Scorching heat, crowds running wild, mud, grunge and nu-metal. The Amsterdam-based band embraces it all. They have been around for a while, starting at the conservatory in 2017, but have undergone a cautious rebirth since 2024. The band plays grittier and more melodic than ever, now deadly serious in its playfulness. Latest single ‘CTRL + ALT + DEL’ is the heaviest TAPE TOY has ever made: an all-encompassing, neon-colored wall of noise. And yet, after some detours, it is still recognizable as a rock-solid pop act.
