Into The Great Wide Open values the privacy of visitors, volunteers, artists and staff and ensures that the data provided is treated confidentially.

This privacy statement covers the processing of these personal data. The statement is subject to changes that may result from organisational or political developments; therefore, it is advisable to consult the document from time to time to stay informed of any changes. This statement also applies to Here Comes The Summer, the spring festival that is organised annually by Into The Great Wide Open.

Which personal data does Into The Great Wide Open collect and how is it processed?

Tickets
When purchasing festival tickets, personal data such as name, address, email, date of birth and place of residence is requested. Into The Great Wide Open uses the data obtained to gain insight into the event's target audience and for internal administration, not to identify individual visitors. In addition, ticket buyers receive a service email containing all important information related to the festival, followed later by a survey.

Website
Browsing data may be collected by Into The Great Wide Open to analyse and optimise visits to and use of the website. These data are anonymised as far as possible. No cookies are installed on the Into The Great Wide Open website, but Google Analytics is used to gain insight into the user-friendliness of the website. Solely for the use of this Google service, this information, including IP address, is provided to Google.

Newsletter
Into The Great Wide Open regularly sends newsletters to subscribers who have signed up on the website or registered when purchasing a festival ticket. In doing so, permission has been given to store the data provided for the purpose of staying informed about news and developments surrounding the event. Newsletter recipients can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.

Volunteer administration
When volunteers sign up at Into The Great Wide Open, detailed personal data essential for the organisation of the event is requested. This includes work experience, contact details, allergies and age. Volunteers actively sign up for a mailing list from which they are asked twice a year whether they would like to register again. Volunteers can unsubscribe from this mailing at any time. Detailed data of volunteers is used for a maximum of one year and is then requested again by the organisation. Into The Great Wide Open reserves the right to keep an overview of volunteers who have worked for the event in the past. For this purpose only first name, last name, email address and the year in which the volunteer was employed are stored.

Lighthouse Keepers administration
When Lighthouse Keepers sign up as donors at Into The Great Wide Open, we request detailed personal data necessary for internal administration. Lighthouse Keepers can sign up for one year or five years; at each new term they will be asked whether they still want to receive new information and old data will be deleted.

Image and sound recordings during the event
To promote the event, Into The Great Wide Open may make recordings of visitors, volunteers, artists and staff. These recordings may be shared via various media channels, without Into The Great Wide Open or media partners owing any compensation to the visitor, volunteer, artist or staff member.

Retention period
Into The Great Wide Open does not keep personal data longer than necessary for the execution of agreements and in any case not longer than two years, unless this is necessary to comply with a statutory retention obligation.
