Chaos is a breeding ground, and sometimes Vlieland can be very quiet indeed. That is why twelve talented jazz musicians made the crossing last June for a five-day creative camp: Dune Sessions. Five days of free improvisation in the dune grass, collaborating or conflicting, until something entirely new emerged. Such a wealth of styles (hip-hop, Hendrix, neo-soul, spoken word, Sudanese folk) and approaches (impulsive, thoughtful, heaven-storming, hit-sensitive) could only explode.
