Dune Sessions
In June 2026, twelve talented jazz musicians made the crossing to Vlieland for the Dune Sessions artists' camp. During this five-day residency - organized by Into The Great Wide Open, Dune Sessions, PAARD, and Super-Sonic Jazz - they were given the space to improvise freely. Inspired by each other and the island, they worked on new material, which will ultimately be released on a joint compilation album.
Into The Great Wide Open 2026 is all about order and chaos – how that which disrupts can be the very breeding ground for change. It is precisely this tension that you hear in jazz: the genre where wrong notes do not exist, rules are thrown to the wind, and in doing so, the most beautiful things emerge. The residents immerse themselves in this chaos. Five days without rules and frameworks, to do what jazz is all about: improvising.
And it doesn't stop there. The makers' camp is part of a longer talent development program by Super Sonic Jazz. The music created on the island will be recorded at The Womb in The Hague and presented live during Into The Great Wide Open. The album release will then take place during the Super-Sonic Jazz Festival, between November 18 and 22, 2026, with a live performance. The entire six-month trajectory will be captured in a documentary, to be released around January 2027.

Deborah Slijkhuis (bass)
Zwolle-based multi-talent on bass who prefers to think in feelings rather than genres.
Bnnyhunna (keys)
Edison winner, professional genre-bender, and Super Sonic resident cat who has collaborated with artists like Braxton Cook, Rimon, José James, Gaidaa, Arp Frique, and Akwasi.
Gino-Cochise (multi)
'Born from a coconut' multi-talent inspires humanity to seek inner silence, and does so with countless instruments.
Rafael Devánte Sinay (guitar & keyboards)
Renowned session guitarist with a double life as a hit writer for artists including Bente and Kevin.
QUANZA (guitar)
Afro-surrealist guitarist connects Hendrix with hip-hop, all while challenging Western performance standards and passing through seven chakra gates.
Hatoon (vocals)
Alias ‘the afrofuturistic fairy’. Weaves futuristic soul and Sudanese folk into an enchanting new sound.
Tallulah Rose (sax)
The Scottish saxophonist and singer previously energized Vlieland with the neo-soul band ROSEYE.
Diana Dzhabbar (sax)
Afro-Ukrainian multi-instrumentalist has already performed at ADE and collaborated with José James and Benjamin Herman.
Lezaam Beets (trombone)
Versatile trombonist who lives for collaborations, preferably with as many people as possible at the same time.
Sydney Lowell (spoken word)
Blends poetry with soul, both literally and figuratively. Her heartwarming sentences glow with love, justice, and introspection.
Euan Jenkins (drums)
Luxembourgish Scot in Amsterdam who has been drumming since he could walk.
