The Herbie Hancock of Australian emo-jazz
It is always golden hour when xmunashe has the mic, just before the summer weather turns. Munashe Mutambiranwa was born in Botswana, but has been making waves in the underground scene of Perth, Australia, for a few years now. Under the banner of 'Instinctual Audio Manipulation', the singer improvises away with his band. In its barest form, it is reminiscent of Frank Ocean, but xmunashe + band can truly brew up a storm – until it resembles post-rock more than neo-soul. He doesn't have any albums (yet); the magic is apparently truly in the moment.
