Bouwplaats van de Toekomst returns. During Into The Great Wide Open, various construction partners experiment with sustainable materials and techniques for the festival grounds and the construction site. What does that look like? You will discover it on August 27, 2026, during the Professionals Program. That is when the construction site opens its doors with an educational program full of speakers, knowledge sharing, and discussion. Tickets are now on sale.
The construction and festival sectors can learn a lot from each other. Both sectors face the same challenges in terms of transport, energy supply, and material usage. During Into The Great Wide Open, partners such as BAM, TBI, Stichting DOEN, and Voskamp Groep are experimenting with innovations like electric transport and biobased construction materials. For example, the IJsbaan stage serves this year as a fully circular experimentation site, featuring a stage made entirely of bamboo and a power supply via bidirectional charging.
