Walt McClements
Do all those endless emotions really come from just one accordion?
Multi-instrumentalist Walt McClements named his latest album after 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner', a poem by the prime romantic Samuel Taylor Coleridge: As idle as a painted ship / Upon a painted ocean. And McClements indeed plays like a painted ship trying to soothe the turbulent waves. The American clocked many sailing hours in the live band of Weyes Blood, but only gained real momentum collaborating with ambient musicians like Rachika Nayar, Aurora Nealand, and Mary Lattimore. Whether he will take his pipe organ to Vlieland is still uncertain, but even with his accordion, McClements calms every summer storm.
