We will continue ♫

In the coniferous forest of Vlieland, Susanne Khalil Yusef presents her new installation We will continue ♫ focused on an enlargement of a recently found map of old Palestine, featuring the names of five hundred Palestinian villages. These villages are partly hidden because fast-growing conifer trees were planted at that time, resulting in forests in present-day Israel over 70 years later. In the place of these new coniferous forests, here and there, a tower from a church or mosque still rises above the ground.

The people who used to inhabit those villages are often seen, just like Susanne herself, sitting in the well-known monobloc chairs. They are chairs without a fixed place that can always be easily moved. Often with a defect, either left on the road among the bulk waste. Susanne's version of this chair is anything but broken and worthless.
