Scenery Track
Perceiving your environment: hearing what you see. Becoming aware of the location you are part of. Observing your own presence in the environment. Scenery track is an interactive installation that plays a piece of Vlieland like a music box.
Scenery trackers move through the landscape. They scan the environment and play back the measurements. The structures of the underground are converted into sound, and an audio loop of the landscape is created.
When the tracker flies over you, you are also noticed; as an audible part of the environment. Just like the trees, bushes, and undulation in the landscape, you are incorporated into the soundscape when you walk underneath it or get closer.
About Studio Toer
Toer, established in 2011 in Eindhoven, is the multidisciplinary design studio of Castor Bours (1984) and Wouter Widdershoven (1986). With their design backgrounds in art and technology, they explore the possibilities of new interventions. Castor and Wouter follow their fascinations, with a strong focus on light, sound, and kinetics.
