shame
Young veterans from the South London post-punk scene still have fire in their eyes
You will never catch shame on laziness. The English band managed to stand out in a flood of impassioned, young post-punk bands (the only positive outcome of Brexit) with a stereotypical hot-headed frontman who truly never seemed to tire. Rather a jerk than a softy or a coward. Since then, they have indeed dared to tackle a love song – they do that whole-heartedly as well – but the title track of the new album Cutthroat proves: the stubborn charisma of shame is inexhaustible and confrontation is inevitable. Life is far too important to take seriously, so why not do what you want to do?
