Romain Tardy

The Great Indecision Council

The work of Romain Tardy is an immersive installation in the form of a gigantic circle on the northern beach of Vlieland, where the visitor is surrounded by light and sound. The circle sends out pulses continuously with intervals of the most commonly used Google search terms of the moment. Hypnotic and enchanting, the work is a real-time portrait of humanity: It does not show humanity how it wants to be known, but especially who it actually is. This work will be visible to all potential spectators: the visitors of the island and the festival, but also to residents far above us.

The Great Indecision Council (TGIC) will be reunited for the first time during ITGWO.

The Great Indecision Council (TGIC) has several billions of members.

The Great Indecision Council (TGIC) will be honoured to share some bits of human knowledge with non-humans.

The Great Indecision Council (TGIC) will not take any decision.

About Romain Tardy
Romain Tardy is a visual artist and primarily works with new media and digital techniques. He was born on September 23, 1984, in Paris and studied at the École des Beaux-Arts before working for various animation and post-production studios in Paris. He also worked as a VJ at numerous events in France and throughout Europe, where he further explored the complex relationships between image and sound.

His installations, which often use the technique of video mapping, are almost tangible experiences where light is used to enhance existing architecture or original structures.
