Kingdom Sound x Higherlife Collective
With combined forces, these two groups have a virtually inexhaustible source of feel-good music.
At Kingdom Sound and Higherlife Collective, the front door is always open. One is a DJ trio from Amsterdam-Zuidoost (consisting of BVNDØ, Boatism, and Euge Louisa) that knows dizzying amounts about dancehall, hip hop, house, afrobeat, and soul, but above all specializes in a high feel good factor. The other is a musical ensemble around drummer Junior ‘Junya’ Appiah, in which multiple generations of Ghanaian Highlife musicians come together. Now they come together brotherly on our (dance) floor. A fruitful cross-fertilization, we suspect. Expect the full musical scope of the West African diaspora, a crowded turntable, satisfied feet, and a warm heart.
