TIME

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

DATUM

Fri, August 29

Kay Slice could already rap before he could write. But hip-hop turns out to be just the beginning of his musical adventures. The teenager who studies the flows of Busta Rhymes in his Rotterdam bedroom as if the secrets of the universe are hidden behind them has become a musical polyglot. He delved into his Ghanaian roots, fell in love with Highlife, and temporarily moved to Accra to learn to play the balafon. By now, Ebo Taylor and Fela Kuti are just as much examples as Rhymes, and Slice has seamlessly blended it all into a soulful whole. At heart, he remains a rapper, but now surrounded by a live band that paints in beautiful red, yellow, and green.
