Hairat

It is night. From the darkness, just outside the walls of the Ethiopian city of Harar, a man calls out various names and finds a group of spotted hyenas in the small light of a flashlight. Over the concealing black-and-white images, Elias Shagiz Adonay Tesfaye's poem about love and loss sounds almost like a lament.
