Immen
Frisian folk in slow motion – following the melancholic example of Grouper and Low
At nineteen, Clasine Haringsma left her parental home in Friesland for a room in Utrecht – and so she had to sell her pony. For eleven years, Ghalid haunted her in her dreams, until she wrote a song about him. Now Clasine calls herself Immen and sings deeply and comforting about more things she has never been able to articulate aloud. She usually does this in Frisian, "it feels more direct, closer", and in a cool, dreamy sea of sound. Nimmen is her debut. 'Nobody'. And in her slowcore (she is 'slower than time', she sings on one of her few English-language songs) it is indeed easy to disappear.
