GLINTSAL
Remarkably soulful for a hip-hop duo that dresses like motorcycle riders from Akira
A halal slaughterhouse in Antwerp-South became Abattoir Anvers, a cultural breeding ground, from where residents Glints and FAISAL landed on the radio. The two have been running the only hip-hop program on Studio Brussel for years now, but they apparently still don’t have enough to do. Under the blended name GLINTSAL, they undeniably express their love for soundbites, slow synths, and soul samples. Oh, and comics. The debut was accompanied by a manga. Their musical influences (Daft Punk, Thundercat, De La Soul, Madlib & MF Doom) also share the same penchant for the cartoonish. At Rock Werchter, the duo had themselves announced by two children dressed like them. We look forward to what adventures the rapper and the producer will experience next.
