Fanfare
You walk along the beach. Suddenly you hear a gloomy marching band playing, just behind you. When you stop, they stop. As soon as you start walking again, the morose brass band begins again. They follow you, eagerly, stickily. They keep you company and play four new musical compositions, one for each season.

Fanfare is a tragicomic interactive sound walk. You will walk this trail with your own phone and headphones, so take them with you from home! Make sure your phone is well charged and you have internet access. You start at a random spot on the beach in Vlieland, with the sea to your left. A few times a day, there is the opportunity to join Evelien, who will lead you on the walk.
The music you hear is performed by musicians from Neo-Fanfare 9x13, under the direction of conductor Hardy Li. The web application was programmed by Roald van Dillewijn. Fanfare is made possible in part by the Fonds Podiumkunsten.
