Dream This
Poetic pop as pure necessity, inspired by Joy Division, Wende, and Jean-Paul Sartre
It was the philosophy of Sartre and the metaphysics of Descartes that laid the foundations for the debut of Droom Dit, culminating in the self-assured The Heart Does Not Exist and Neither Does the Rest. It is precisely that all-encompassing nothingness that gives the Enschede synthpop group freedom. The freedom to write about love in brutally honest poetry, to play with soft melodies, or to completely surrender to bombast. Dreaming can sometimes hurt quite a bit, teaches singer Sam de Laat, whose presence on stage you cannot ignore. Droom Dit is inevitable, just like nothingness.
