Dear Omen
Underground Amsterdam gothic rockers only venture into romance in pitch-black darkness.
When the first organ sounds resonate in 'Life On Display', Dear Omen seems to want to appeal to an ancient darkness. And if ancient darkness is too far-reaching, the neo-Gothic style of the eighties will suffice. In hot leather, adorned with white makeup and (provided fire safety measures allow it) surrounded by candles, the Amsterdam band is one to experience live. The songs reflect this as well: propelled by a recognizable, frightening bass sound and filled with a shadowy voice of pathos, Dear Omen makes romance grit its teeth. The trio certainly doesn't want to drive you away. It simply has very particular plans for the first date.
