Cliffords
The Irish rock band of the moment thrives on nostalgia, The Cranberries, and the sweet water of the River Lee
As a teenager, there was no band as cool and famous as the bands from her own town of Cork for Iona Lynch. It’s only a matter of time before a new generation of local teenagers looks up to Cliffords in the same way. The band around Lynch has made great strides in a short time, creating energetic 90s rock with arena potential, but seems determined not to lose sight of its hometown. The opening track of the EP Salt of the Lee is named after a defunct animal feed factory, whose silos once adorned the skyline of Cork; and the anthem 'Dungarvan Bay' is a patient grieving process for a nearby harbor. From there, the coolest band from Cork now sets sail - with healthy nostalgia and great joy.
