She was just a hobby musician on TikTok – with a sharp pen and a cynical view of fake influencers and privileged jerks. Now Chloe Slater suddenly has a record deal and is touring with her favorite bands. It's a platform that the 22-year-old from Manchester – slightly overwhelmed – is more than happy to take advantage of. After all, she wants nothing more than to share her emotional guitar pop (somewhere between Dry Cleaning and Olivia Rodrigo) with the world, including the political message. That’s typically Gen-Z, wrapped in irony, but clear as day at the end of the day. 'I'm not going to try and argue with you on the internet,' she promises on 'Sucker.' That is the internet. How Slater behaves live, we can only wait and see.
