Glowfield
Inspired by the island and its specific nature, Arianne created the work Glowfield for Into The Great Wide Open. As a deep calm falls over the land after the day, the glowing field of flowers comes to life, swaying in the wind. The field plays a game with the almost symmetrically planted trees. Glowfield is an exploration of a paradox: can an artificial intervention in the landscape enhance the natural experience?
Arianne van Boxmeer (1986) graduated in 2008 as a theater designer from the University of the Arts Utrecht and has been successfully working in the field for a number of years. She has, among other things, collaborated on the design for the Boekenbal 2011 and Festival Zinder of Theatergroep Stella and worked as an assistant for renowned theater designers.
In addition to scenery and costume design, she also started focusing on creating installations after her studies. She often uses the location as a starting point, which frequently serves as the reason for creating the work. This results in the work always establishing a relationship with its environment. She also uses natural elements, such as the wind, to enhance the visual experience. Glowfield offers the viewer a mesmerizing experience in the woods of Vlieland.
