This year at Into The Great Wide Open, there is once again a full program for the very youngest. A colorful selection of games and art projects, centered around the theme of 'chaos', where children and adults alike can run, play, fly, build, demolish, and marvel to their heart's content. This year's lineup includes Jopie Kegel Sloopwerken, De Bende van het Bos, and Filosoofje the podcast.
This year, the festival revolves around the central theme of 'dis/order': about how chaos and disruption can make room for new ideas. This is also the guiding thread in the children's art program. A dozen artists and children's friends set to work with this. They experienced order and chaos through the eyes of children, and used disorder as an engine for play, creation, and imagination.
The result? A fantasy world deep in the woods of Vlieland, where children and adults play live Stratego together, people pay in 'flut' (worthless currency), and you wipe your buttocks with art. Curious about the full program? Discover it here.
