The Belair Lip Bombs
Indie rock that is so enjoyable, you will want to start your own band this weekend.
Things known for their indestructibility: the Nokia 3310, the Lion of Nemea, water bears, diamonds, and here, the hooks of The Belair Lip Bombs. The rock band from Melbourne sometimes crams ten into one song – and yet it seems so simple. It must have something to do with the surf and skate backgrounds of the four band members. Just like The Strokes and fellow citymate Courtney Barnett, the Lip Bombs are secretly hopeless romantics – just listen to the lyrics of Maisie Everett – but they play with such unbelievable swagger (and volume) that it almost makes you feel shy.
