The Belair Lip Bombs
Indie rock that is so enjoyable, you will want to start your own band this weekend.
Things known for their indestructibility: the Nokia 3310, the Nemean Lion, tardigrades, diamonds, and as of now, the hooks of The Belair Lip Bombs. The Melbourne rock band sometimes packs up to ten in a single song – yet it seems so simple. It must be something to do with the surf and skate background of the four band members. Just like The Strokes and fellow Melbourne resident Courtney Barnett, the Lip Bombs are secretly hopeless romantics – just listen to Maisie Everett’s lyrics – but they play with such an unimaginable amount of swagger (and volume), it almost makes you shy.
