Nyron Higor
Authentic Brazilian bossa nova that makes the Vlieland sand boil beneath your feet
Anyone who cannot afford a flight to Maceió can also just listen to Nyron Higor. Although he now lives in São Paulo, the multi-instrumentalist still models his music after the 'Brazilian Caribbean', right below the equator, where even the city's coat of arms depicts a gently rolling inland sea. Higor proves that this gentle movement is an art—the national art, to be precise—with his thoughtful MPB and instrumental samba. Using purely acoustic (folk) instruments such as the cuíca, the cavaquinho and, of course, the necessary brass instruments, it sounds just as timeless as the tides that carved out Maceió.
