Nyron Higor
Authentic Brazilian bossa nova that makes the Vlieland sand boil beneath your feet
Those who can't afford a flight to Maceió can simply listen to Nyron Higor. Although he now lives in São Paulo, the multi-instrumentalist still models his music on the 'Brazilian Caribbean,' just below the equator, where even the city coat of arms depicts a rippling inland sea. Higor proves that rippling is an art—the national art, no less—with his thoughtful MPB and instrumental samba. With purely acoustic (folk) instruments such as the cuica, the cavaquinho, and of course the necessary brass, it sounds exactly as timeless as the tides that have eroded Maceió.
