Light Challenge | Glowing Nature – DARKER SKY

LOCATION

Start of the art route, see app

The Light Challenge challenges students from various degree programmes to develop innovative lighting concepts for public spaces. Each edition focuses on a current social and spatial challenge.

This year, the project lands on Vlieland. The challenge? Designing a visually appealing light installation that protects the darkness of the night and nature, while at the same time guiding festival visitors in an appropriate manner from one artwork to another.

Under the banner of the EU Interreg North Sea project DARKER SKY, Light Challenge ’26 presents a number of prototypes at the start of the art route.

This project is co-funded by the European Union.
