Acid City
Jack Wedge, Will Freudenheim, US, 2026, 12'
In this exuberantly designed animation, a dystopian future is drawing closer and closer. Floating in toxic water and left to its own devices, the city creates a new social structure beneath the burning sun. With field recordings from the streets of New York, this animation offers something rare in a time of climate threat: hope.

The filmmaker is held 'hostage' by several screens in order to monitor all social media and app groups, with messages about Palestine, Congo, Kurdistan, Sudan, Lebanon... How can you sleep in times of genocide, violence, war, protest? This desktop documentary is composed of short snippets of diary-like texts, interspersed with social media posts and videos, and a web search for solutions to sleep problems.
