Honey I'm Home

Members of WIES, Marathon and Banji prefer to outfit their dreamy noise with a hundred thousand effects.

‘Shoegaze’ could just as well have been called ‘earplug’. Contemplatively staring at your shoe laces, while silently wondering if your eardrum just burst. Honey I’m Home actually just makes pop songs (on ‘Insecure’ they sample the same TED talk that Beyoncé once used on 'Flawless'), but wraps them in a wall of sound that doesn't just sound loud but also tickles. The Amsterdam locals tickle you in a DIIV-like, MBV-like fashion, albeit with a healthy dose of autotune, making them one of the most exciting bands in the so-called ‘zoomergaze’ scene.
