Dutch-Belgian Frans Kalf presents himself as a cynical cheerful fellow – or a cheerful cynic, depending on his mood. As a Dutch-Belgian, he tends toward chanson, a genre in which all words have already been sung a hundred thousand times, but you can always arrange them in a different order.
