On the oldest and most beautiful stage of Vlieland, Karel Doing and Karen Willems give a duo-performance of film and music. Karel is an artist and (experimental) filmmaker who has developed his own method: phytography. The images he creates with this are a kind of prints - without a camera, but directly onto the film material - which are created through phytochemistry (plant chemistry), photographic emulsion, sunlight, and artistic composition. Specially for this performance, he has created film material featuring plants that specifically occur on Vlieland. Stills from this work will also be exhibited in De Lepelaar during the festival. 

Karen Willems is originally a drummer, known from Zita Swoon and Mauro, among others. In recent years, she has further developed her own music, which hovers somewhere between sound art, improvisation, and pop. Karen will provide the live soundtrack to the film using a diverse range of instruments and her hands and feet.
