Into The Great Wide Open 2025 takes place from Thursday, August 28 to Sunday, August 31.

Cashless
The end of the coin era: this year you can only pay with a card. This way we keep the already soaring prices fair for everyone – after all, there is no need to be priced in steps of at least half a coin anymore.
If you only have cash with you, you can purchase a payment card for €2 at the information desk along Kampweg. Here you can set your cash as credit. You can also use this card as a group pass. The remaining balance on the card can be requested back online up to thirty days after the festival via www.mijnkniponline.nl.

Boot naar Vlieland
Naar Vlieland reis je met de veerboot vanuit Harlingen Haven. Tickets voor de boot van Harlingen naar Vlieland koop je via Rederij Doeksen. Op hun website kan je alles vinden over de tarieven en dienstregeling met de veerdienst of de sneldienst. Ook vind je er informatie over bagagevervoer, fietsen meenemen op de veerboot en de faciliteiten in de terminal.
Ook dit jaar zullen alle bootovertochten die bezoekers voor het festival maken klimaatneutraal worden gemaakt, met behulp van de Goede Reis-toeslag die op festivaltickets zit.
Transport op Vlieland
Aangekomen op Vlieland is het mogelijk om tegen een kleine vergoeding bagage op het logeeradres te laten afleveren door Bagagevervoer Vlieland. Desgewenst brengt dezelfde vervoerder de tassen en koffers weer terug naar de bootterminal in de haven. Vergeet niet de bagage te labelen met je naam.
De festivallocatie is goed te belopen, maar Vlieland is ook fijn op de fiets. Fietsverhuurders zijn dichtbij de bootterminal gevestigd.
Voor alle paardenliefhebbers zijn er ook paarden en pony’s te huur bij een van de twee manages op het eiland.
Vanaf Kampeerterrein De Lange Paal rijden bussen naar het Sportveld (Halte Stortemelk). Bekijk hier de actuele dienstregeling.

Samen met Bagbooking maakt Into The Great Wide Open jouw reis naar het eiland relaxter én duurzamer. Laat je tent en bagage thuis ophalen en op Vlieland afleveren. Zo hoef je niet te sjouwen in trein en boot, en heb je misschien geen extra auto meer nodig. Boeken kan hier.

Eenmaal op Vlieland is het makkelijk en praktisch om je per fiets te verplaatsen. Om alvast op zoek te gaan naar je ideale tweewieler, trap door naar de websites van Jan van Vlieland, Frisia of Zeelen.
Parkeer je fiets bij de verschillende festivallocaties op de daarvoor bestemde plekken en niet in de eerste de beste bosrand die je tegenkomt.
Het kampeerterrein Lange Paal ligt wat verder van de festivallocaties af en daarom adviseren wij de festivalbezoekers die hun kampement daar op hebben gezet om een een fiets te huren. Er rijden ook bussen tussen Lange Paal en het festivalterrein volgens de reguliere dienstregeling.

Park your bike at the various festival locations in the designated spots and not in the first hedge you come across.
The camping site Lange Paal is a bit further from the festival locations, and therefore we advise festival visitors who have set up their camp there to rent a bike.
Buses also run between Lange Paal and the festival site according to the regular schedule.

The distance to the locations varies by year, but in principle, all festival locations are within walking distance of each other. If you prefer to get around by bike on the island, you can rent a bike from the various bike rental companies on the island.

Vlieland has been welcoming us warmly for years, and we hope it will continue to do so for many more years. So think about the environment and keep the island clean. Even though you may not always see them directly or with the naked eye, there are many special and sometimes protected plants and animals to be found on Vlieland. Into The Great Wide Open is extra careful and takes this into account during the preparation and construction. We ask you to do the same and only walk on the paths.
Smoking
The summers on Vlieland are often dry. Smoking is therefore only allowed in designated areas. Of course, you should put your cigarette in an appropriate ashtray afterwards and definitely not on the ground.
Drugs
Don't do it. If something goes wrong, the nearest hospital can only be reached by boat (and in emergencies by helicopter). Moreover, more than the legally allowed amount of soft drugs is forbidden, just like hard drugs in general. Those caught risk being removed from the festival and the campsites. The police regularly conduct checks, both in Harlingen and on Vlieland. Just don't take the risk.
Fire
Open fires are strictly prohibited at the campsites. At night, having a small fire on the beach is allowed. In the early morning, children are running around barefoot again. Therefore, do not leave any mess behind and set a good example for the next generation.

Flyers and posters
It is not allowed to distribute flyers or post posters at the festival locations.
Umbrellas
You may bring your umbrella onto the grounds, but it is not the intention for you to raise it in front of the stage. Your fellow visitors also want to see what is happening there. Umbrellas will be confiscated in case of nuisance and unfortunately, we do not have an umbrella park where they can be stored in that case.
Vandalism and graffiti
Strictly prohibited. Anyone caught will be handed over to the police.
Pets
They are not allowed. By the way, animals don't like loud music anyway.

This number is available day and night. In emergency situations, always call 112.
Alcohol
Be mindful of your consumption; it's best for everyone, including yourself. We only serve alcohol to individuals over 18 years old. You may be asked for your ID when exchanging your ticket for a wristband as well as at the bars.
Rust
Vlieland is an island of peace and space. Respect that. Also, keep in mind that we host many children. Preserve the quiet at the campsites at night. At Stortemelk, there is absolute silence from midnight to seven in the morning.
Food and drink
We do not allow cans and glassware on the festival grounds. Also, bringing your own food and drinks is not permitted (except for water). Please keep this in mind at the entry gates. There are many options on the grounds to eat well, and outside the grounds you are of course allowed to enjoy your own snacks. In accordance with our permit and to limit littering, no drinks purchased on the grounds may be taken outside, so please consume them at the stages where you bought them.
Photography/video/audio
