Into The Great Wide Open will not take place this year, but special things are still happening on the island. In collaboration with Fortuna Vlieland and the Brand Brewery, Wanda Weizen will be presented this coming Friday, September 3: a flavorful wheat beer inspired by one of the oldest stories of Vlieland.

"We are proud to present this beer, a beautiful beer that symbolizes our years of collaboration with both the Brand Brewery and Fortuna Vlieland, and also in the tradition of years of brewing beer that we have done with and for our visitors: a sustainably produced beer with a story," said Dago Houben, a team member of Into The Great Wide Open.

Wanda Weizen will be presented this coming Friday at Fortuna Vlieland. This sustainable brewery was opened in 2019 by Bojan Bajic and Gosse Beerda, situated in the dunes of the island. All the beer is brewed with clear water that is sourced directly from the Vlieland dunes.

Wanda Weizen owes its name to the Wanda saga, a medieval story about the Queen of Vlieland, who, during a fierce storm, is said to still be seen on the dunes of the island. Listen to this exciting story - preferably with a beer in hand - now via this link.

Wanda Weizen will be exclusively available on Vlieland starting Friday, September 3, available at Fortuna and various shops, supermarkets, and nearly all hospitality establishments on the island.
