Fire Dune 2024
A fruity pale ale from Fortuna, Brand, Velocity Made Good, and ITGWO
Beer
At the Vuurboetsduin, the sun sinks into the coolness: the island light reveals itself warm. Vuurduin takes you on the adventure that the night brings, with the tilting day as the starting point.
Both Brewery Fortuna Vlieland and Velocity Made Good draw inspiration directly from the Wadden Sea. Together they spent a night there: composing in the lighthouse, drumming among brewing kettles, and exchanging ideas around campfires. Velocity Made Good feeds on sensory impressions from the Wadden area, which they directly pour into their analog modular synthesizers. Vlieland's dune water is the pure base for the annual beer that Into The Great Wide Open brews with Fortuna and Brand Bier.
Vuurduin is the tasty and fiery result, full of appreciation for the influences of our natural environment on creative processes such as brewing and making music. Vuurduin is a fruity pale ale infused with hibiscus and cranberry, to which Velocity Made Good adds the frequency of the island twilight, reaching towards the endless, magical festival night of Vlieland.
Documaker Jeroen van de Bovenkamp captured the joint adventure, so you can explore along brews, lighthouse keepers, and an endless night, in search of the right recipe and unique ingredients for this special beer.
Vuurduin is available on tap at all bars during Into The Great Wide Open. The bottled version can be purchased at Fortuna. Take it home as a souvenir, so the island light shines just a little longer in your festival memories.
