Into The Great Wide Open is one of the leading festivals participating in the Green Deal Circular festivals (GDCF). This is one of the +/- 300 Green Deals currently in progress in the Netherlands. The Green Deals are intended to accelerate the sustainable transition. 

In this case, 53 leading festivals from Europe, in collaboration with an associated ministry (in this case I&W), and a number of knowledge partners form a group that sets sustainable objectives, develops pilots, and creates public knowledge, skills, and networks. ITGWO also utilizes the GDCF monitor, thereby accurately depicting its footprint in terms of circularity and climate for several years.

Additionally, Lab Vlieland is also a knowledge partner in the GDCF and contributes to the development of both the model and the monitor, the Travel and Transport thematic group, and the overall sustainable strategy of the GDCF.
