With the Basic Grant, Into The Great Wide Open supported seven artists and creators for six months – thanks in part to donations from the public.
Into The Great Wide Open saw that after eighteen months of pandemic, many Dutch artists found themselves in a precarious financial position. The lack of performances was a determining factor in this. Into The Great Wide Open, which organizes a festival on Vlieland twice a year, had to tell its artists for the fourth consecutive time that the festival was canceled.
The seven artists were selected by the team of Into The Great Wide Open, consisting of programmers, producers, marketers, and the daily management of the festival.
Each artist received, over a period of six months, 5400 euros credited to their bank account. They did not have to do anything for this, although we took pleasure in keeping everyone updated on all songs, writings, sketches, diaries, albums, and other wonderful things that, thanks to their support, have been released.
Into The Great Wide Open wants to thank the public and ticket buyers who have massively donated for this initiative.
