Boogie Wonderland has reopened, now with a healthy dose of Gen Z irony

On the opening track of Que Se Passe-t-il, Lézard fantasizes about setting up an old-fashioned pirate radio station that could play both John Coltrane and XTC. This has not yet happened, but with a live show like theirs, it is not even necessary. The hyper-ironic, slightly desperate but always combative Flemish band celebrates the end of the world with a greatest hits show: the coolest dance music of the past century rolled into one. Hard bop, electroclash, no wave, dance-punk, everything from the bridge of 'Losing My Edge', wrapped in one dissonant glitter suit and accompanied by grim commentary. While the United States of Europe slowly Balkanizes, Lézard briefly brings it all back together.
