The Camp of Public Relations
Collectively investigated what it is like to be together in artistic freedom and informality.
At the end of 2021, six musicians and two writers set out without a plan to Vlieland, each from different backgrounds. While walking, improvising, and talking, they got to know each other. On the island, the group explored what it means to be together in artistic freedom and openness. A quest called Public Relations. An investigation into the possibilities of the collective, image, and the boundaries of communication. Resulting in an organic and non-hierarchical collaboration that continues to this day.
Radio: an outdated form of communication. The first sound of the collective Public Relations consisting of Pelumi Adejumo, Ricky Cherim (Meetsysteem), Julie Divakova (Giant Julie), Marvin Lalihatu (Animistic Beliefs), Adura Sulaiman (Future Husband), Sanam Tahmasebi (Sanamika), Arie van Vliet (Lewsberg), and Yvonne Zeegers. Together, they sought new forms of communication last winter on Vlieland, through music, through text. Radio is the first glimpse of their chemistry.
The octet will share even more results of their chemistry with the public. An album in the form of a musical collage. A play about Public Relations. A publication based on the conversations that the group had on the island.
