Gaining inspiration to put into practice on Vlieland

Youth has the future, even at Into The Great Wide Open. That is why a team of 15 to 18-year-olds thinks along about the festival every year. In recent years, the Youth created their own hangout, booked their own performances, and made their own merchandise. But since there is no festival this year, the Youth is looking for other ways to keep themselves busy. Last Tuesday, the group visited the Photography Museum in Amsterdam.

There, the members of the Youth attended an inspirational photography workshop focused on discovering their own style. With a camera in hand, they each dived into the museum garden. The results - by no means bad - can be viewed below.

A visit was also made to the exhibition of Vivian Maier. Her work, and that of other landscape and street photographers whose work is or was on display at Foam, are the inspiration for the Youth to go shoot images themselves on Vlieland in mid-August. To be continued.
