Into The Great Wide Open has existed since 2009 and offers a diverse program each year at the end of summer on Vlieland, where the island provides a varied stage each time. The sharp musical programming sets the tone, with Art, Film, Children's Art, Youth, and Spoken Word creating a comprehensive program. Into The Great Wide Open aims to do good, in all areas where possible.
Into The Great Wide Open has been a festival since its first edition in 2009 where things are done a little differently and experimentation is given space. Because the island and what happens on stage inspire both the audience, the artists, and the organization. This leads to innovation in many areas: on stage, in the work of artists, in social and technological aspects, and in the way the festival is organized: a large team sees the festival as a playground and laboratory, a place where they can express something that may not yet be possible in everyday practice: a temporary world, a performance of how things could also be.
Specials
Ieder jaar programmeren we een aantal specials op het festival. Het is aan te raden vooraf een ticket te kopen hiervoor om teleurstelling te voorkomen. We wensen je alvast een heerlijke tijd toe aan tafel.
VUILE VAAT, SCHOON TERREIN
Van je pizza, noodlesoep of koffie geniet je op volledig herbruikbaar servies. Alle bekers, borden en bestek worden afgewassen nadat je ze hebt ingeleverd bij de daarvoor bestemde punten. Daar kun je ook terecht met afval, zoals servetjes. Daarna verwerken we ‘t weer tot grondstof, zodat het z’n waarde behoudt. Bekers lever je in voor een statiegeldmunt bij de bar. Keramiek en planken kunnen terug naar de cateraar (vinden ze fijn). Hier lees je meer over hoe we dat aanpakken.
